• N.B.: y* represent the long “i” . For example: “iodine” is represented as “eye-oh-din” “idyll” as “eye-dil” “fragile” as “fraj-yl” “eye” has been used to represent an initial long “i”  (“idyll” as “eye-dil”). “-ile” has been use for such endings.
